Everybody has a diner story.
Our story combines a 1982 movie, Jack’s in Skokie, IL where the DTs met nightly 30+ years ago, and trips with granddads to The M&W in Idaho sitting at a giant M/W shaped bar. Fenwick, as far as we know, never bowled a perfect game. He did insist on stopping for coffee on his way to the Fells Point Diner to get coffee. And to us, that is a perfect reason to name this Modern Diner after him.
The perfect score part of our Diner’s name was added as a nod to the beloved Melrose Lanes that was part of this complex from 1942 until it closed in 2005. We reclaimed the last remaining Melrose lane into our big bar.
This Modern Diner located in the fast-growing Melrose neighborhood is a place for family and friends to slow down and enjoy comfy, delicious food and organic coffee drinks. We encourage community with a friendly-seating design that allows everyone to see into the restaurant no matter if they are sitting in one of our nine large booths, at the large bar or with others at our large community tables.
Grab a cup of Bongo Java coffee or a artfully made latte at our separate coffee bar on your way to work or while you wait for a table.
F300 also combines stuff we believe in:
creating restaurants unique to their neighborhood,
serving as many directly-sourced ingredients as possible,
treating customers like guests
and balancing home and work lives.
We also believe that dining should be affordable and be an enjoyable experience. F300 features an all-day menu based-on diner classics priced where our guests can come every day – or multiple times a day.
