The Belcourt Theatre is a unique Nashville treasure with a vibrant historic past and deep roots in the community. Today, as Nashville’s nonprofit cinema, the Belcourt presents the best of independent, documentary, world, repertory and classic films. The Belcourt cultivates and build on the powerful sense of shared experience that audiences can achieve—taking advantage of our building’s physical character and location in the heart of a lively Nashville neighborhood. Throughout Nashville, we bring inspiring films to children and young people, partnering with community organizations and teaching cultural literacy via our Mobile Movie Theatre. A regionally and nationally recognized art house, the Belcourt is a member of the Sundance Institute Art House Project and an active participant in the Art House Convergence and the League of Historic American Theatres.
As a nonprofit, the Belcourt is supported by individuals (including over 4,000 Belcourt members), corporations, and foundation donors, including the Metro Nashville Arts Commission and the Tennessee Arts Commission.
